I am beginning to think there is an inverse relationship between the contentment of the US and the quality of the television shows...Consider the 70s, living life in the 70s had to ****...but the television was great. Living now is okay and our TV sucks ***.

I had a friend who made a lot of stupid decisions in his life. Was pretty much always high. Smoked cigs like a chimney. Constantly doing stupid random shit. I always figured he was going to get himself in too deep some day. But he was hit by a drunk driver while he was walking along the sidewalk home from school. My friend was sober as could be. Everyone always thought he'd be his own destruction, and it's a little tough to think about him going in any other way.
