What is the difference between a bass and a guitar??

guitar has 6, 7, 12 strings. Bass has 4, 5, 7, and I think maybe above that. not sure really on that one. Guitar plays chords where as the bass is playing the root note of that chord. Wanna see some nice bass playing? Check out Victor Wooten, Les Claypool because they play the bass so well.

bass also has different "styles," of playing then guitar. You can't really "slap," a guitar.

far from it man. far from it. Completely different. How can you say they look the same? not only do they have different neck and body styles, the number of strings is obvious and the size of the string.

From 20', they look the same.

Yes the bodies are similar, but no matter how small the picture, I can pick them out with ease. There is enough difference outside of the body. C'mon.

I would imagine that bass is easier to learn than teh guitar. Fewer strings and all.

One has more strings and the other has that stick thing.
Still looking for others. Good way to kill 30 minutes.

The strings are thicker on a bass for obvious reasons. Add that to your list.
