Many people on the forum are starting to blame oil speculators for increasing the price of oil.
in order for that to be true, they must be taking the oil off the market (they are not).

Also, in order for one to engage in a future transaction, there needs to be an offsetting "bet".

In order for you to "bet" the price will be higher, I must "bet" the price will be lower. You cannot bet with yourself.

So what do you think about the huge investors dropping large amounts into Oil Futures though? I saw that speculation on tv and it seemed a little outlandish for them to be blaming upwards of 50% of the current price on such.
