Does anyone know much about the switch to digital TV? How do I know if I have a digital TV or not?

You have cable right? If so, you dont have to worry about it. If that tv is hooked up to your house's cable and/or cable box.

If it says HD it's a digital tv, and depends on how big/nice you want to go. Also when they switch to all digital transmission you will not have to upgrade the tv just need a set top box. I assumed you were referring to the actual tv.

I got cable. My friend doesn't though.
I think he is going to have to get a box or a new TV....he doesn't really know what to do.

Mine says 1080i on it so I think that is digital.
My friends is not.

So, he doesn't need a new TV? I thought it was kinda funny how the church gave his parents a TV that won't work next year.

What about those HDTV antennas. Is that what he has to buy or another box as well?

Honestly I don't understand why they are forcing only digital. Running analog and digital simultaneously isn't exactly a daunting task or detrimental in any way.

It isn't like they are going to refund the money back to the American people or anything. I have no idea what they are going to do with it, but I doubt they put it to good use.

Why should they refund? I meant them screwing the public over to make some bucks to totally waste is a great idea.

Exactly. I was wondering whats the point too. Maybe its a conspiracy, limit what people can see. All the people out there that cant afford it or dont know about this, are left in the dark. Its the starting of the divide and conquer......
