Jealousy is a completely natural emotion. It is instinctive. If someone is not jealous to some degree then they are just not wired right.

Some people say that you need to know your partner's ****** history. I think in most cases it does more harm than good. You end up dwelling on things that your partner has long since forgotten as a practical matter. the only reason she even thinks about it now is because you constantly remind her of it in some form or fashion.

I was in a meeting, but I am glad you wrote what you did. However, I don't forsee myself ever not asking about their past. A person's past can give great insight into why people are the way they are today. I was arrested at 17 and charged with four felonies. Although they where dropped and I served minimal time in juvenile, it was a turning point in my life. It got me on the right track. If you didn't know that about me, you wouldn't understand why I hate the my gf's family steals cable and condones drug use. She didn't understand why I disliked them when those things aren't a big deal. Well, they are a big deal because of my past...and the fact that I don't want to associate with anything like that anymore.

As for the reason I resent her, I am not too sure. I am still debating with myself trying to understand how I feel.

And the issue runs deeper than just her. I had this problem with my ex, and if my current relationship doesn't work out, it is highly probable that I will have the issue again.
