Quiet Riot lead singer found deadKevin Dubrow found in Vegas home; band rose to fame in early 1980s

LOS ANGELES - Kevin DuBrow, lead singer of the popular 1980s heavy metal band Quiet Riot, has been found dead from unknown causes at his home in Las Vegas, authorities said on Monday.

DuBrow, 52, was found dead at about 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, a spokeswoman for the Clark County Coroner’s Office said. She said an autopsy would be conducted to determine the cause of death.

“I can’t even find the words to say,” Quiet Riot bandmate Frankie Banali said on his Web site. “Please respect my privacy as I mourn the passing and honor the memory of my dearest friend, Kevin DuBrow.”

Quiet Riot, which was founded in the mid-1970s, topped the Billboard charts in 1983 with the album “Metal Health,” spurred on by the massive hit single “*** on Feel the Noize.”

The band has since endured break-ups and personnel changes but released a new album in 2006 and continued to tour sporadically.

Because designing a crossover is quite difficult.
What I have been looking at is the madisound kits, where you get the drivers and assembled crossovers.

I bet someone on diyma could design one, or you could learn. Would probably be fun tinkering with it.

A nice 2.1 system will cost about $700
A new receiver will cost about $350, with the possibility that I will still be unhappy with my setup.

Maybe I will start liking home audio when I get older.

I have zero interest in a 3way active front stage.

Why? I think thats my "obsession" with audio.

Saleh Audio sells an upgrade kit to what I posted for $515 shipped.
Which is about all I can afford.

I would have to make the cabinets. I think I will make them out of 1" MDF.

You've got all this knowledge about investing, why not just do that instead of spending all your money on audio gear?

I'm going two way.

If you're going active i would recommend just buying raw drivers.

No. But they seem to be above the fray concerning these things. Corey doesn't get tied up with the ladies and Phil doesn't ask the questions. Although the advice they provide is solid, it isn't beneficial if they haven't been where I am. The opinions to be more authoritative than compassionate and helpful.
