Have any of you ever built one of those kits from parts express? They have a MTM made from the Dayton Reference Series....it's a bit pricey for DIY (but the crossovers are pre-built). Just curious as to thoughts...
The RS series sounds great, especially paired together. Aaron (JoeTama) built a TM that sounded exceptionally great... I was surprised and impressed with the sound especially off of just a receiver.

It's worth it with the enclosures. They are built well, very sturdy, beautiful finish, and if you ever want to change... you can get blank replacement baffles for the enclosure...

Thanks...I wasn't really sure how well the things were built, considering they weren't too expensive. And from the looks of the kit vs. the parts, I am paying more % for parts than I am with the rest of the stuff. Curious if the crossover is well designed or not...I assumed it went for the "bang for buck" approach like the rest of the Dayton line.

Is the MTM worth it if I already have a suitable sub?

I can use the sub 80 Hz and below just fine...which makes the need for MTM rather questionable. Plus, the price of two regular monitors is the same as a single MTM.
