Soo...
I got a 4.0 this quarter. I was ready to co-op, but all the available BioMed co-ops had returning students so they were filled. I'm kind of in a conundrum, because I have lots of previous credit from UC... and I could only take one class I need for my major this quarter (without pre-req's)... pretty much a waste... as I'm setup to regularly take it later... would just make it so I wasn't full time in a later quarter (lighter load). So, I'm thinking... and pondering. And it seems as is it's going to take me nearly as long to finish this 2year degree as someone fresh out of highschool... even with all my previous credit. Because of mandatory alternating co-op and certain course only offered at certain times. It would be nice to have a tech degree, get a job, and have my job pay for continued schooling. But I'm not sure if that's the best to do... and it' would still take super long. Also, I'm thinking if this would be a waste of time and money... when ultimately in the end I'd have wished I'd got a B.S. anyways... should I just go straight for it.
I sat down with an advisor in EE tech @ Cincy State... and she literally went through the same thing as me. Went to UC for little over 2 years for EE, stopped going, degree at Cincy State, then B.S. degree at UC after that...More or less, she told me in different words, you're better than this. You're breezing through things, and it seems as if you want a B.S. anywyas... and I do. I'm glad for Cincy State, because it was a catalyst. It served a purpose and motivated me... she convinced me to meet with UC immediately about my options of returning... and stuff since winter quarter is near in January.
Met with EE advisor, said it's do-able, I can retake 3-4 classes in the winter and then see where my GPA stands and if I could be re-admitted to the program. I set up a meeting with the dean about being re-admitted to the college first, so that's another hurdle. Also, finances are a huge thing... worry about that after I see if I can be readmitted to the college itself first. Also, I'm not the biggest fan of UC... but the next closest thing is Ohio State and I don't really want to up and relocate....
So, this weekend I have a lot of thinking to do. And I know it seems I want a B.S. deep down, and I think I want it in EE... and I'd like to prove I can do it... b/c I know I can I just made mistakes at first. I care this time. Then it'll be a matter of these difficult classes I'll be re-taking which I haven't seen in 4 years... Calculus 4??? Physics 3??? Digital System Design??? lol...
So who knows...
