quick question: The R/G/B is componet or composite? Also...is it capable of carrying 720p signal.
Thus, if I have a 720p TV, I don't have a need to a HDMI receiver?
both component and HDMI are capable of carrying a 1080i signal. however, there are very few devices (actually might not be any) that will output a 1080i signal over component cables //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif . the manufacturers are forcing people to use HDMI cables to carry a 1080i signal.Component (RGB) is capable of carrying a up to a 1080p video signal.
HDMI will carry 1080p video signal, and uncompressed audio signal as well in the same cable.

Both my cable box and my xbox360 have no problems outputing 720p/1080i and even 1080p in the case of the xbox over component //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifboth component and HDMI are capable of carrying a 1080i signal. however, there are very few devices (actually might not be any) that will output a 1080i signal over component cables //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif . the manufacturers are forcing people to use HDMI cables to carry a 1080i signal.
also, not all devices will transmit both audio and video over hdmi. several will, but not all. so dont expect that will be all you will need, but an optical cable is still just as easy to run along side an HDMI cable //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
i actually meant to say 1080p instead of 1080i. component is capable of carrying 1080i. as for your cable box and 360 outputting in 1080p over component, no they arent //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif . for starters, there isnt a single cable or sattelite company transmitting a 1080p signal, not a single one. secondly, you can set your xbox360 to 1080p, but unless you have the HDdvd add on, there isnt anything you are putting in your xbox that would utilize that resolution, and even that i think forces you to step up to HDMI. the 360 has been the single device i have heard of that has the capabilities to output a 1080p signal over component, but there hasnt been much media made with that resolution made for the 360 yet, and like i said, all manufacturers are forcing the transition to HDMI for high def data transfer. Both my cable box and my xbox360 have no problems outputing 720p/1080i and even 1080p in the case of the xbox over component //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Also, neither of my devices with HDMI fail to output both audio and video...

no not ALL of it. I had to get gas and buy some stuff for the 4th. But what I had left I gave to the g/f. Because when we broke up I took the coldplay tickets and owed her for them. But now that we are back together they are still technically mine because I haven't asked her to go with me so I owed her 210 dollars for both of them. You gave all yo monies to the gif? I'm lost... and I don't think I wanna know, sounds complicated.
