I recommend either of what Don or Mike1 said...May give it a shot...especially on the edges. It took the primer well, won't take the paint for shit.

Theres also smoot/shiny MDF as well as colored avaiable. But I'd still just do a layer of FG.when you sand mdf untill it shines. it closes up the pores in the wood. makes it real easy to paint.
