Maybe so but there's as much information contained within as I could possibly provide to someone thinking about buying. Full specs, pics showing physical appearance, my selling policies/payment types accepted/shipping times & methods/ etc etc etc.

On the odd occasion that I sell something on eBay those listings look much the same.

I want to leave nothing to chance - if someone is thinking about buying something I'm selling I want as much info there to help them make an informed decision. If they don't buy it will be because they either don't like my price, don't like the item itself, or can't use it for what they need. It won't be because the FS ad itself was too sparse on info...

I don't even understand why the term is "common" sense.

It's anything but common now-a-days, as you stated.

I'm sure it has to do with the fact that nobody bea...ermm...disciplines their kids anymore for fear of the kid calling Child Services on 'em.

If I had even suggested such a course of action Dad would have calmly picked up the phone and asked me if I wanted him to dial it or would I like him to just give me the number...
