I do it all the time at red lights.

I'm too lazy to sit through the whole light cycle with my foot on the clutch.

If it's bad for it then it must not be too bad for it b/c I've had Gossamer for 4 years now and haven't replaced or needed to replace any clutch components (thankfully I can rebuild the entire clutch assembly for under $100 in parts if it needed it, though...)
