You dont need to remove the back deck to get the 6x9s out just simply pop the speaker grills off and take the coveres off the bottum off them and unscrew them and pull them out. I have a 96 Grand Marquis, and I have a 160 Amp alt stock. Ive been running 1 400 watt mids/highs amp, and 2 400 watt amps lately and its been fine. Also ran an Orion 1200d and mids amp at the same time and it handled it great too. Im also running 1/0 and a 2nd battery tho, I would deff recommend that.

in my car the back deck is one solid peice. and i would just remove the screws but its on the top part of the speakers not acceible thru the trunk. its one solid piece so that means no speaker grills //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

You can buy and d/l the MasterSheets for that vehicle for $5 or $6 from Crutchfield.

It'll tell you all you need to know about disassembling the dash to replace the HU, the doors or dash, whichever is applicable to your car, to get at the front speakers, and the rear package shelf to access the rear speakers.

Edit: They cost $4.99 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I got a 04 Vic and removed my rear speakers. All I had to do was pull up that cloth cover on the rear deck and there they were. Mine were bolted to the top of the deck and had to be removed that way.

I had a Orion 1200d runnin (4) AA Assassin 12s sealed and a Mtx 342 (later replaced by a Orion 4002) running of the stock electrical system, with only the Big 3 and a larger battery up front.

ya in mine i have a ed 9.1 with little dimming but i was wanting to ad my hk598 for some components. but that whole cloth thing on the back is held in with a series of plugs and i cant find em all lol nad its not just cloth its like it has some backing to it like plastic or something

well crutchfield isnt giving much info and i dont want to just order the manual yet as i can get it free with a purchace and i need new brackets for the front speakers as im wanting to install my front components. the size is 6 by 8 right?

Yea its 6x8 opening all the way around in that car, (front doors and rear deck).

Anyway you could get pics of the deck? I think I know what your talking about. but I didnt have a issue with it in my Vic.

i think you should be able to tell what im talking bout. see as the whole back dash is one piece even whats covering the speaker

I see what your saying now, I didnt have a problem like that in mine. Try looking under the deck in the trunk, its prob some clips under there that you cant see looking from that angle.

Also, try removing the rear panels ( the ones on either side of the rear window) and see if that can give you access to the edge of that panel you trying to take off the rear deck.

the problem with those clips is i cant find em all and they are little plastic plugs and i want less damaghe done as possible i tried to remove the panels b4 but they didnt help much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Thats a tough one man, I wish I could help more. Shouldnt be that hard, but I understand the fustration. I hate workin on my car, running power and speaker wire in that car was just irrating at best.

On a side note, the door panels are really easy to remove:)

i tired removing them befor but couldnt figure them out. yes it is a pain in the *** to rcas and power through that car, last year i had to install the system and running the power wire up and under my back seat was a pain in the *** and the side railing gaurds have a couple clips broke on them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I know how to do it. I had a 94...

Take out the rear brake light, and I believe you will need to pull the rear seat away from the edge and you should be able to lift up the dash panel up past the seat and pull it out. I remember all I had to do was take out the high mount brake light and ait came out fairly easy after that. This was over 4 years ago mind you... I did it so I could vaccuum the bugs off of it lol.

I also suggest laying down some 1/4" foam sheets on the sheetmetal before putting the back panel in to keep it from rattling... My rear dash rattled stupid hard. Don't hesitate to throw some sheetmetal screws throught that **** thing either. Srsly...
