Couple questions

1. Is it ok to put my fuse and in-line fuse holder inside the car/trunk?
2. I wanted to put a battery in my trunk, would it be a problem if it wasnt a car battery? Say...a lawn/garden battery?

TIA
1. It's usually good to always have a in-line fuse holder under the hood, but putting it in the trunk would be fine.

2. As long as it's 12v..allthough I'm probably guessing if it's small, then it doesnt have very many CCA's and isnt a deep cycle battery. I would not use it anyways..

Alright thanks Sebring.

But would I get ANY gain from it at all? Even if it doesnt have many cca's? Because I gotta brand new one actin as a paperweight right now, and I thought Id make use out of it...

Always fuse as close to the battery POS+ post as you can. Never use a non-sealed battery inside the cabin or trunk of any vehicle, unless you have a externally vented box to contain it.

fuse as close to the batteries to prevent current from reaching areas on a shorted lead. Lets say you short out your power wire via the fire wall you would want the front fuse to blow as close to the battery as possible and the same for the rear fuse for the back battery. It will cut off the juice so fires are less likely to happen. In all cases fusing the pos power leads within 18"of each battery is a must. Some will say not too but if it ever caught fire I would find it hard to believe any insurance company would cover it due to the lack of proper fusing for saftey. Also would be a good idea to use an agm type battery in the back. Brands of agm batteries are Kinetik, optima, odyssey and there is many many more.
