Hello everyone! I turn to you all in my time of need.
I am in no way an audio/electronic expert, usually take it to a friend or a shop for work/install.
But right now my car is currently down.
I noticed what felt to be a faulty alternator starting to go out.
So I replaced it along with a new battery.
But last night I had similar problems that I was having. The first sign of problem was my stereo turning off and on, speakers, head unit, everything. Then other electrical issues like gauge cluster not lighting up and gauges not reading any rpm's. finally the car lost power and would not turn on. so i figured it was the alternator killing the new battery.
well when removing the battery I noticed that the power cable running to my amp & cap. has 2 bolts holding the fuse, I am almost positive that one of the bolts was touching the bottom of the battery tray, which I assume would cause a short.
Could that have been the cause of my fried alternators? I'm waiting on a 'new' alternator to come in, but I have since then relocated the wire and fuse portion of it into a more stable area.
Everything else is working fine, I have no other idea what it could be.
Thanks for your help!
