Well, if pi like 3.1417 is pronounced like pie, then I imagine Fi is pronounced like Hi-Fi.

High - Fidelity is where the F and I is taken from of course spelled capitol F and lower case i pronounced (phy) rhymes w/ shy, why, high........ If you want to still say F. I . go ahead slang is still in style here in America but note you are extending an extra syllable to the already abbreviated High - Fi.

When you know the correct pronunciation its kinda cool to call it Fi (phy) and then people say Fi??? whats that and you say... its short for Hi-Fi. A subwoofer company thats focused on the fidelity of there products.... definition of fidelity being the degree of accuracy with which sound is reproduced.
