My riocar has a 'hush' button on the remote that lowers volume by a programmable percentage when hit. It should be labelled "anti 5-0" IMO.

This just in.... Not everyone wants to hear "how many db's" you can hit at every stoplight or parking lot. I love car audio as much as the next guy, but when I'm sitting at a stop light and my car is shaking from moron a few cars back, it gets annoying very quickly. I am glad that cops pull over people that can't respect other people's desire to not be bothered by loud music. Thats pretty much the American way, you have all the freedom that you want UNTIL it starts in encroaching on someone else's rights of not wanting to listen to it. So be respectful and you'll find that life will be a lot smoother and easier.

Sage advice, good sir. Advice that I follow religiously. I have had a "system" in one configuration or another for a great many years. Yet amazingly I have never once been pulled over or cited for excessive use of it! Could it be that I have a bit more respect for those around me than the majority of teenagers display with an alarmingly degree of regularity nowadays? I would suggest that this is likely the case.
