all races that arent black already learned the lesson long ago. some people think they are so special they can do whatever they want. this is a perfect example. the man thinks he can get away with whatever and say whatever just because he is black, friends with the president, and a well known black man (although until this i had never even heard his name)

This goes to prove the extent of your racism. You haven't demonstrated any interest, not even casual interest, into the plight of non-white men. Perhaps if you listened to Dr. Gates, and understood the position of black males in America you would have understood why he reacted the way he did.

There are links posted here everyday about how white cops seek out the black youth and black cops stand idly by trying to fit in. Those black cops should be trying to solve the problem, but instead they try to join whitey in hopes of comraderie and promotions. Who are we to look up to when we can't trust the police?

No the fact that we keep letting retarded presidents in office just makes me laugh. Fact is the spotlight is on him being the first African-American president so I find it ironic he would even make a comment about the situation knowing that everything he says or does is going to be blown up in the press.

If you don't believe portions of Boys in the Hood is based on real life experiences then you obviously haven't ventured past your suburban summer home. I, for one, am glad the Boys in the Hood was finally able to bring black inner city life to the white majority into the mainstream. For so long, due to white flight, lack of public transit, and failing schools whites have been able to shield thier eyes from what they left in their wake.
