I personally ran an 8ga wire from the batt to a multi fused distroblock that i mounted behind my glove box. From this constant 12v, i have my alarm's 12v +, My radio's 12v+, My Roofmount LCD's 12v+, Phone charger 12v+, Radar Detector 12v+, DVD 12v+, And power inverter 12v+ all with thier own fuses. To keep the cigg lighter fuse from popping, you can use a larger fuse. Whatever the lighter is [5a?] plus 10a for the radio, So you'd need a 15a fuse. the wiring to the cigg lighter should be around 12ga, which should handle 15a of current. Edit: Forgot to mention my 8ga power has a circuit breaker fused for the WIRE, NOT the amount of power being pulled threw it.
