Confontation today leads to a warrant for my arrest.... I need opinions

Ok so the story is I was taking my cousin to the hospital because his wife was having complications with her pregnancy. My girlfriend was in the backseat and my cousin was in the front seat (I was driving). So once I got to the hospital the ER entrance was congested so I decided to pull on a side road to the side of the building to park across the street. When I tried to pull into this small parking area the entrance was small and there was a vehicle blocking most of the way in with a spanish woman and her 16-21 yr old son sitting in it. Once I pulled up trying to make my way through I realized I couldnt make it and I honked my horn at the lady because she wasnt letting me through and was just staring at me with attitude. I decided to roll my window down and ask the lady politely to pull up a little so I could squeez in and she was pretty much just chilling eating her apple giving me attitude so then I was like lady move I need to park without cursing or anything. When I said that all of sudden her tough guy son started freaking out saying dont talk to my mom like that and shit and he also was like we can get out of the car and finish this shit (screaming and instigating). So I was heated at this point and so was my cousin and we were both saying that we didnt want any problems we just wanted to park and my girlfriend just kept saying lets move dont fight and stuff. I ended up backing up and when i did that I seen that her son and his mom both jumped out of the car. Then when I looked back at the son I realized he had a big knife in his hands so I sped like 15 yards forward jumped out and grabbed my tire iron out of the trunk. When I did that he ran like 5 yards charging at me and by that point my cousin and girlfriend just told me to get back in the car and go, so I threw the iron and did just that.

Once I dropped my cuz off and went home with my girl I didn't think anything of the incident but about 3 hours after it I get a call from my mom saying that the cops are at my parents house looking for me because I pulled a gun out on some people. By this point I was like WTF this is crazy and that I know I shouldn't have gotten out the car bad mistake but it wasn't a gun it was a tire iron and secondly it was self defense. So now suppose ably I have a warrant for my arrest when truly this ladies son should be getting arrested for pulling a knife and charging at me. I did not approach him I was smart enough to know that either I was going to get stabbed or he was going to get his head beat in with a tire iron which is gonna cause me trouble regardless so I got back in the vehicle and left. So my main reason for posting this is just to ask for peoples opinions on my dilemma and for you all to share any personal experience to help me with. If there's a warrant, and you're aware of it, turn yourself in. Failing to do so will make you look guilty.

Get your cousin and girlfriend to go with you and explain what happened. It may help and it may not, but you've got to do something...

OP, call the cops and file a report, stop being stupid. about this you have two witnesses. they have themselves. It is clear they where not going to be civil. You should have left them alone regardless of the situation. Tell the cops what they did. Of course there is a warrent. until you make an appearence and they see that your not running from the law they will continue to think that there is a dangerous person with a gun on the streets. DUH. so what happend with the pregnant female?

Don't say shit. Don't provide witnesses to the cops, (your wintesses will have to make affidiavits to your lawyer) don't do anything except find a lawyer who is willing to defend you, not just make a quick plea deal and prepare to turn yourself in. Make sure you don't have any ganja or guns in your car or your home.

Chances are the kid and his mom told a tall tale of what happened and when reviewed by the DA it won't hold water and will never make it to trial. They will go for a plea deal and claim you'll go to jail for ever if you don't agree. BS, if your lawyer will really defend you and demand trial by jury, the case will eventually be dropped. Survallence tapes have a habit of disappearing when needed.

This may take a while and cost you a lot, but that is the price you pay for getting out of the car and being stupid. Yes, you were stupid. You are not the victim, this sounds like mutual combat between to idiots. You were one of the idiots. No one got hurt, they can't prove shit. Take your lumps, pay your lawyer and move on with your life. Next time, stay in the car. Keep your mouth shut. If assaulted, call the cops first.
