cone noise on re sx..

when i play just about any music the cone makes a noise as if i were flicking it..could it be just a loose dustcap or could it be more serious?!?!

Loose inner dustcap, it's a former cap... that covers the former underneath the dustcap...

just wait until it comes off and sand the edges of it and glue it back on.

i thought the xxxs only had those. maybe not.

Wont require a recone, but will need the outer dust cap removed to gain access to it

thats kinda what ive been doing but havin the subs right behind me i hear it very well and its annoying as hell!

No, no recone needed.

Pick up some glue called goop at a place like Lowe's or Home Depot...

Take a thin sharp knife, and carefully run it around the dustcap (the part you see... the entire "cone" is really the dustcap). Take it off, and carefully glue back the former cap... make sure you don't get any glue in the gap. Then apply a thin ring around the dustcap... use a loop of tape around your fingers and stick it to the dustcap and gently lower it into place. Apply a little pressure, and put a small weight on the center and let dry overnight.

Done.

the dust cap is applied with a rubberized glue, u could try prying it up carefully

yea that noise can be annoying, makes u think something is seriously wrong mines had sounded the same way

cool thanks for all the replies guys good to hear its nothing very serious i will definitly get it fix tho ..if i had a car it would be a different story but i cant take that noise anymore lol!
