cone area vs power

Kinda of a newb question but.......

If I add more subs (cone are) with the same power will I get a increase in Bass (spl or sq)?

Running 2 Ti PG dvc 10's on two older z1000d mono amps @ 2 ohm. Over powering them by around 250w according the the amp and sub specs so I have some power to spare on a low end pair of 10's.

So... if I keep the two amps running @ 2 ohm (500-750rms) with the two 10's and add another pair of 10's will I see a increase in Bass (spl or sq)?

Note: Will have 2 subs in two seperate sealed boxes (total of 4 10's). I know these amps will put out (had them pushing 4 12" type r). Had to go with two boxes so I can pull them out for road trips (kids in the back seat). Oh yea 02 2500 quad cab.

Considering replacing the 2 PG and going with 4 Lanzar or 4 Massive Audio low end subs.

OR.................................

Drop 300 bucks on 1 12" or 1 15", and run 1000w rms on one hi end sub? manual says I can hook the amps together. shouldnt matter either way on the amp though - think I will get more power if I stay @ a 2 ohm load vs hooking them together.

Dont know if this has beed discussed and sorry for not using the search but I plan on buying on Friday.

Whoops I should metion that I will have to consider the subs ohm load 2 or 4 ohm to stay @ 2 ohm. Using JL's wiring diagrams to keep the ohm load and power correct. Would like to run them @ 1 ohm but the amps are just not stable @ 1 ohm.

So.. If I have to go with 8 10's (4 in each box, that is fine). Just dont want to drop 300 buck and not hear or feel any diffrence. Obvisouly I am wanting to stay with low end subs and try to maximaze the power I have.

Is ~750w rms out of the question on 4 low end subs? Also, I do have the room to revamp the boxes and maybe go with 2 12's and 2 10's in each box. How does 4 12vs and 4 10's runnng off of around 1500 rms look?

I agree but the boxes have seperate sealed chambers. The boxes had 2 12vs in each and I plan on covering the holes (3/4" mdf, silicone and screws) and dropping in a pair of 10's. (depending on the sub price). See any problems doing this?

Yes, mixing subs is a no no

Still a bad idea. The subs act diffrently and have diffrent T/S characteristics. Would cause cancellation and other ill-wanted side effects.

I'd get a 15, wire those amps togethor (if possible), and wang. There's actually an 18" SX for sale now, if you got that with the power those two amps can provide (not sure if you can wire it, i'd ask somebody else)... wow, it would slam.

I have heard that and I take your comments seriously. I like the tight punch the 10's provide but I am not getting the low end response I would like. What if I went with 2 10's in one of the chambers and 2 10's in the other chamber? Set the x-over on one amp a little higher and left the amp for the 12vs to pick on the low end? Is that possible without going with a seperate x-over?

again guys and I am not trying to start anything but..... I have the 8" in my doors and the 10's in the box under the rear seat. Would this be considered mixing subs? The 8" are running free air but it does seem to bring the bass forward. If I set the x-over correctly i would not get a full range of bass? In particular one song has some midbass that bounces back and forth and I have to crank the 10's down to hear the bass go from front to back. Is this the cancelation I am hearing?

I will avoid the whole issue of mixing subs. Have decided to go with 4 10's in each box (2 seperate chambers in each box). Should have around 750w for each box (total of 8 10's). Also, will upgrade the 8" I have in the doors. This should give me a little more up front. Would like to go from sq to spl system by adjusting the gain on the 10's amps. Is this another no no? Trying not the break the bank and max out what I have.
