looking at changing up my system. looking at running 12 tens or 12 twelves.

how much difference in cone area is there with that number of speakers? if someone can post the actual numbers...would be appreciated. power will be the same. gonna give them 600 watts a piece.

If you are going with round subs the equation for area is pi*radius^2 and therefore......

The surface area of 12 10's = 942.5 in^2

The surface area of 12 12's = 1357.2 in^2

wow, cant even do like 5th grade math, that is sad.

wow, considering that i don't use or need the formula for figuring out cone area in my every day life and i was just asking a question, you come on here and feel the need to show me just how much smarter you are than i. i'm quite sure you don't know everything there is to know, but thank you for all your wisdom.

I was just commenting on how absolutely pitiful it is that someone over the age of 12 doesn't know the formula to find the area of a circle.

I would sooner run a fewer number of 15's or 18's

why would that be....i've thought about that but could only see getting 6 15's or 4 18's in there.would the spl numbers be that much different? the power per sub would be doubled if that was the case. around 1200 watts per sub then

"absolutely pitiful"? are you serious? do you post these comments in the same threads that people post on here about how to wire up two subs in series or parallel? i'm sure in the 5300 plus posts that you have there are probably some threads or questions you have that people could have ridiculed you for because of your lack of knowledge. but then again you know it all obviously

12-12's are equal to ~18-19 10's in cone area.
