For example... 2 spl oriented 15's cost lets say 500 each, rated at 2 k apiece, ported with sufficient power to get to rms, another 800 ish. To hit the same number sealed you may need 4 or 6 15's with sufficent power to run them all of a sudden your getting a second mortgage for audio gear. I love sealed boxes, but for most people to hit numbers on a TL, they got ported 1 for cost, 2 for simplicity. If you want to go selaed with lots of cone area go for it, but don't count on winning a lot of spl contests, because your cone area/power will put you up against the biggest boys at the comp, and they will more than likely be ported, and beating you.</p></blockquote><p></p>
