Ok, so i downloaded a program to recover files i deleted out of my recycle bin. Now, the problem is when i recover say a picture file it says it cannot open the file because it is the wrong format! What do i do to be able to open these recovered files? Tried finding a program to reformat these files, but, with no luck. Please give any info. you can guys.

dont delete a file that you need. problem solved

Check the file extension, the program may have saved it as something besides .jpg, .png, or .gif depending on what type of picture it was.

go to folder options->view->uncheck hide file extensions and apply

rename the file extensions .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, etc

yeah it's still a .jpg - IMG_3097-1[1].jpg that is the file name when i undelete it. the program i use to open the pics is jasc paint shop photo album. thanks for replys guys.

so restore to an earlier date, keep the files you want and delete the rest. that is the only way i know how to get stuff that has been deleted. other than that there really isn't a way.
