quote from an XXX buyer..
"Got them today and couldnt resist a bit of a free air test so hooked it up to my bedroom home theatre amp giving just the one midbass driver 50wrms or so (i only tested one)
at first it didnt sound great or worlds apart from my dls r5a's but then i realised the volume was too low, turned it up abit and good lord almighty did it come alive.
Never have i heard a component speaker so crisp, clear, loud and bassy off 1/3 of it reccomended power.
i kid you not when i say a sibling came upstairs and asked if i was testing out a sub or something.
i cannot imagine how they will sound with 270wrms from a Dls A3
will put a few pics up soon and the grills are just albeit i wont be using them
only downside im afraid is............. the price "
You think he couldn't say the same thing about any other set of comps? He has very little listening experience. Of course he was floored.if they're anything like the subs (as far as build quality, sound quality, midbass production) then they have to be insane.
im leaning towards them, and i will probably get them, i was just looking for people who have compared those and seen the pro 60s, or other top of the line components.
a.) you haven't even heard them, and a good majority haven't as they aren't readily available as other brands. plus the price tag doesn't fit most peoples' budgets. Why did you bother to make a thread asking if you already had your mind made up? Just waiting to hear one good thing? Your logic is as stunning as your threads.
Do you not think they would get them out there if there was a demand?a.) you haven't even heard them, and a good majority haven't as they aren't readily available as other brands. plus the price tag doesn't fit most peoples' budgets.
b.) you obviously cannot read. as i have said about...what...4 times now, i was leaning towards the xxx's but looking for opinions from people who have heard the new ones, compared to BAs or other brands out there.
all i've heard so far (the majority) is post dumping and people just generally referring to other brands.
you post dump all of my threads and the majority of the time when you do SEEM to contribute something, it's nothing more than a quick remark or something that won't guide my original question anyway.
aw, eugenics learned how to contribute!Do you not think they would get them out there if there was a demand?
Here is a stellar review by the way.

This guy has something to reference against though, so i wouldn't bother reading it.

and thank you for that, as i may steer into the hertz range. if i'm going to fork out $400 for speakers, i want good shit. i heard good things about the RE line of comps, but if dozens of people are amazed at the HSK-165's, i might look in that direction. who deals hertz in usa?
Well god, there are no reviews comparing the hertz to the XXX so i dont know how you could possibly make a decision.i did read through what i found before i posted. even the site you gave me didn't compare the xxx to the pro60s.
i want midbass, but i want quality sound too. i figured the xxx line would provide both, with a kick in the *** with midbass, but from what people are saying theyre good...just not good enough for that price.
i'm looking into the hsk-165's at this point, as i really havent seen negative hertz reviews... i just need something to keep up with my xxx 18. because on sept 10th it will be on 3kw, and on 1.5 it completely overpowered stock speakers (obviously)..i need something quick, and i'm having an audio shop do the speaker install. i will consider deadening the doors, but it really comes down to how much they want to charge to do the install.
