Comps: XXX vs Pro60

Pros and Cons of each? I need to build a front stage within the next month or two. I need to choose; i love SQ but at the same time music without the midbass is crap IMHO. Which one will perform better with the midbass? Anyone have experience with both?

yeah... i hear the pro60's produce great sound, but i'm more concerned about midbass and trying to see if anyone has compared or heard both

either one of those mids would probably produce very good results in a properly built sealed kick. or an AP enclosure.

The Pro 60 have very sharp tweeters while the XXX have smoother silk tweeters just so you know. Are you open to other brand of comps at all? I have heard the Pro's and while they sounded great they did not have lots of midbass. The RE XXX comps lacked SQ as well as midbass.

Brands i have heard that had crazy midbass are Focal, OZ Audio, CDT Audio and Image dynamics.

This is actually the 3rd set I've owned and when I install my horns and B&C mids in a few weeks, I will not make the same mistake a 3rd time by getting rid of them. While we're throwing stuff out there. I would expect the alpine SPX-17rs to be stellar performers in their price point.

My vote still lies with the Z6 for a great affordable passive set.
