Im looking for a decent component set for my 96 GC, but the the mounting depth is an issue. I believe i have around 2.5" depth.

no budget really but i do not want to spend an arm and leg. I am a college student.

looking at these Hertz HSK 165 for cheapz on ebay

HERTZ 165 HSK (italian hi-end speaker system) - eBay (item 170483929992 end time Jun-08-10 10:13:41 PDT)

if you know a diy combo that will work with my doors, i will consider it.

thanks

don't buy Hertz on ebay, you have no idea what you're getting.

how did you verify your mounting depth? did you remove the factory speaker, measure from door to glass, and measure the top depth of the factory speaker? you'll need a decent mount for the speakers, that will gain you some extra depth.

The Hertz ESK line is in your price range (I assume under $250?), new and authorized. Though, i'm not a fan of the tweeter.

I havent personally measured the doors, but threads on the jeep forum have said the depth is ~2.5"

don't just assume people on the internet know how to measure depth. it takes you about 10 minutes to pull off the door panel and remove a factory speaker so you know front AND rear mounting depth. you need to know both b4 you can determine maximum speaker depth.

it also helps you plan the mounting baffle.

I didnt want to start a new thread but I decided to go with rainbow slc 265 but i just want to know the difference between the kicks and non kicks.
