Compressing a jpg

Does anyone have or know a good program that compresses bmp files or jpgs? I want to change my avatar but all my compression programs are on my other computer.

just can't seemt o figure out what it is though...

just send it to any of us photoshoppers out here.. it only takes like 2 seconds to reduce a picture on a comp.... i dled the program for a whole 0 cents and its what a $400 program? sorry if i pissed any of ya guys off.. i need it for school and they only sell it for $200... let me know if ya need anything done.. im sure there is a couple guys that might need a lil more than just photoshop... take it easy and good luck
