Componets in an Integra

sup, this is my first post here, but i've been reading a lot on this site trying to figure out how i'm going to install my new system in a '98 Integra.

i've been looking at DLS UR6S's and CDT HD-62's mainly for my front componets. my biggest issue is i want the interior to remain as stock looking as possible. the problem there is the stock tweeter grill. i'm trying to find some componets

I know JBL Power Series Tweeter fits in 1994-2001 body style Teg...my friend has Power Series 6.5" comps up front and gto coaxials in back...not sure on models cuz never looked but I know the Power series are **** good in his teg

might wanna check out Arc Audio ACS 265...I wanna say 110wRMS. I wouldnt go with CDT HD's unless you are using kicks (which you arent it sounds like) or you sound deaden the hell out of your door. Im not sure if the color matters in your case but CDT tweets are gray (at lesat every one I have seen). Arc's are black.

thanks for the replies. how do the Arc and JBL size up to the DLS in terms of sound? how are the Alpine Type R's compared to the others? I also looked at the DLS PS6 and their tweet has a shallow mount depth and is only a 1". I know the Type R's 1" tweet can be shaven to fit behind the grill. Or maybe pair up the shallow mount of the T25 tweet to the woofer of the UR6S. lol am I just better off buying Type R's

maybe the HD62s aren't for me then. I will be deadening the doors, but i still don't want to use more than 100w RMS. I honestly don't even listen to music that loud. I just want real good sound. And no, they aren't going into kicks. They are going in my stock locations.

Isn't your stock tweeter location HUGE? like almost 2 inches? you shouldn't have any fitment issues.

you'd think that by just looking at them. but inside the grill there isn't much diameter room. and they have a shallow mounting depth, but i don't see why i couldn't maybe use some washers and maybe a little longer screws to fix it. don't know haven't really looked at doing that yet.

If your not too concerned about what the inside of the panel looks like, why not just cut out (dremel) all that extra crap except for the plastic outer ring. Then, you could accomodate pretty much any tweeter you want.

yeah just trim the inside a bit. Thats what I did on a '97 LS. Looked stock so the guy was happy. I fit a 1" tweet inside.

i have an integra. i installed infinity perfect 6.1 components. if u take off your door panel and look at the inside side of the door panel u will see a hole embossed like a"stencil" about three or four inches north of the woofer grill. u just use a 1" hole saw and drill a hole of a size depending on your tweeter. its real easy. i doubt youll be able to get a tweeter in the woofer section unless u get braxials. i hate my integra because of the speaker location. the stock locations of the woofer and tweeters arent ideal for imaging. and i dont think we have enough "cockpit" room to make kicks. and speaker pods would look silly on our doors.

thanks for all the help. as far as removing all the plastic crap and such. it has to fit between those 2 screw posts to hold the oem grill to the door so 1" diameter is about the best i can do to fit between the posts. it's the depth i've been concerned with. could probably make a custom mount bracket if i really needed to so i can gain some depth. but i think i've figured out what i'm going to do.
