Components

hey guys,

I have an 04 f150 5.4l v8 and I had a 15 inch subwoofer but I got sick of all the bass and i got rid of it. Now I just want some nice sounding music with good bass. Do you guys think I should go with some nice components in front and some new rear speakers, then a nicer headunit? Do I need an amp for my components? Also, what components do you think I should get?

"real" bass is hard to accomplish without a subwoofer (im sure there are exceptions but ill let others fill in)... why didnt you just turn the sub down if there was too much =P

well im sure a new set of comps wont hurt if you got stock - but they will only get so loud if you put a full signal to them.. and if you dont put a full signal... they're not gonna get that deep... what about a nice 8 or 10?

Right now I have kenwood speakers in all 4 doors and an alpine headunit.

Im thinking now of just keeping my kenwood door speakers and just putting 1 10. Do you guys think itll be enough bass?

get an R and throw like 800 watts at it- im sure it would get a little loud =)

lol seriously tho if you want SQ (dont get an r)

but im sure you can find a 10 that will pound nicely for your needs and ill elt others fill that in cause i dont wanna tell you to buy something youll regret.. i only heard so much stuff in person - try looking into image dynamics

Just get you a JBL GT series 10 inch sub. They sound **** good for the money bro. They sell for 90 bucks over at crutchfield. But I bought a new off ebay for 54 bucks. Best money you will ever spend. I had polk,mtx,jl audio,etc before I tried the jbl and it blew them out the water.

I guess it depends on which JL subs you're talking about. W1's or W3's maybe, W6's or W7's, no way. But then again you ain't gonna get a W6 or W7 for $90 either.

I was talking about the JL Audio W1's. I had one of those also and don't get me wrong they sound good just don't have near the output that the JBL does. The JBL has alot more bass output than the W1's.
