Both are great headunits and pretty much for the money I think the kenwood would be better since it has the build in garmin navigation and bluetooth, while the W505 doesn't have any of that but rather you have to buy the seperate portable navigation with it. But how about the quality of the two screens, which one has better picture? Which one should I get?

Ive never used the Alpine, but it was an option when I was looking at head units

I did a short review once

Well I have had this unit for a few days but I allready love it.

You might say love is to stong of a word....your wrong.

When you buy a Double din you usually get subpar EQ, no time alignmet, really no good sound control.

This unit has a 13band EQ control for the front and 13 bands for the rear.

Thats where it starts. You have time alignment, You can choose what size speakers you have . 6/12/24 db crossovers for EACH speaker. You can also choose the level of output from each speaker.

I have had the Pioneer D3, Eclipse 5510 and the Panasonic Strada. This is way beyond those.

The nav is Garmin so its very well laid out. I figured out most of the functions in about 20 min. You can change the voice of the nav. It has text to speech and will say all the names of the streets. The Pioneer,Eclipse, and Panasonic said some names but not all. I live in a very rural town and even those streets are said. The POIs are great.

The price is a bit high but if you want a sweet double din with great nav, its worth it.

If anyone wants a specific shot, feel free to ask

sweeet, those pics are perfect. Yeah I think I might have to get the kenwood for the equalizer alone, definitely one of the best hu you can get.

If you're looking for all the basics rolled up into one h/u, go with the KW. The alpine's resolution is very nice, but it doesn't have the built-in features that most other h/u's do.

unless you plan on running a digital setup, or want to add the h701 and control it from the headunit later, stick with the kenwood.

The thing is, how easy is it to play with the equalizer because I haven't did much tuning to stereos before and if I did get the w505, I would prolly buy the imprint. How does the navigation work on the alpine, you can either buy the pmd-b200 or the nve-p1, whats the difference and can you use the navigation as you listen to music or is just one or the other?

The eq is not to bad to work.

Just like any radio,it takes a bit to get used to all the menus and such.

I relaly really enjoy the SQ of the 8120, totally changed my mind about Double dins and SQ

Ive owned the Pioneer D3,Eclipse 5510,6620 and the Panasonic strata, out of the box the SQ on the Kenwood beats them all
