Comparible to 9835

I was j/c to what HU would be a good comparison to the older 9835

the premier 860 has a shit ton of features. 13 band eq, 3-way xover, time alignmnet, etc. i'd personally look into the older eclipse's, or try the 8455

I really like the voice feature on this one! Also what is AAC? Also how is the Ipod control with the Kenwoods or should I just but a mini to rca for the ipod hook up?

Eclipse has great features that are comparable (i think better) than the alpine 9835. although the 9835 is an awesome HU. i think it really depends on your setup (ie active or passive).

Well mainly reachin' for SQ but I like havin' a lot of features on my HU's. Not only stuff that will help me out but the WoW factor as well...

My next setup is going to consist of

JL Audio ZR components

JL Audio 300/4

2 JL Audio 13w6v2

JL Audio 1000/1 or Kicker KX1200.1

Then I'm also gettin' the Alpine PXA Processor

So I'm lookin' for somethin' that will make this just shine

well if you are going to get an alpine processor, not much needed in terms in features in an HU because i'm guessing you are getting the pxa 700 or h701? if so the processor should take care of all the processing needs and hence dont need much on the feature side on the HU. just need to find an HU that will support the processor. if you are looking for an all in one HU, look at the CD7000. 11 band PEQ with 5 bands to mids, tweets each and 1 band for the sub. T/A, 3way crossover as well.

but looks like you are going passive, so not much needed for a 3way crossover.

Yeah I was lookin' into the 701....It isn't final yet if I'm going to get it. But whats in my sig for the system is final.

But if I end up not gettin' the 701 Of that eclipse and Kenwood I have above would u still choose the eclipse over the kenwood?

didn't even look at the specs for the kenwood but you i dont think any companies can beat 8v preout, 55 ohm input impedance, 24bit DAC. yea i'd choose the eclipse if money not an option. why not get an alpine to match that lovely alpine processor?

Well if I go w/ the Alpine processor I'm going to be buying the Alpine 9857 when we get it at our store.

But I'm not sure if I'm going that route yet, it's a lot of work lol! Not sure if I'll have the time.

But thanx for the input, I'm going to be doing a lot of reasearch on this eclipse now and no I don't think anyone can beat 8v preouts, that just sounds delicous
