Is it true cold weather can blow a sub? I blew my W7 and that's what someone told me. I had never heard of that before. It was about 15 degrees and I was playin it,, not slamming but mid level and it just stopped,, took it in and both VC's are blown...

lol.

possible condensation. but typically no it doesnt.
that would ****

it shouldn't make you blow coils, it'll stiffen up everything which means you could end up fvcking up your suspension though. I've been playing mine all winter, pretty loud, no problems.
yah i always had that thought in the back of my head that it could mess up but i couldnt help playing it bc the voltage is so much higher when its cold //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

sounds like bad timing for cold weather and your setup to ***** out on you... I've played systems in the Maine winter for the past 12 yrs and didnt blow anything directly because of the cold... perhaps I dont beat the shat out of it @ -15 below - hell my lcd touch screen has problems when it gets that low anyway.

Typically it doesnt matter. The colder air does make things seem like they dont hit as hard though.

I have my ab 1100.1 at .25 and run it daily in the ice tundra that I live in. High has been in the 20's with windchill in the single digits. No problems here.

another interesting thing, is that with the cooler air comes cooler coil temps which usually means lower impedences when the coils heat up... plus your alt will produce higher voltage while cold, just some things I've noticed up here...

i always wondered the same thing, but never had anything go wrong with my equipment at any point from cold weather. only noticed my headunit display was real light early in the morning when it was extremely cold. once the car warmed up it was fine.
