Coaxial/Braxial Mount 5.25" Component Speakers <$200, 100-125w RMS

Like the title states... I'm looking for a good set of 5 1/4" component speakers that have a coaxial/braxial mount option on them, that have an RMS of ~110-125 watts @ 4 ohms a side. preferrably

I'm not particurarly interested in perfect sound quality... I've been messing with active set ups for about a year now, and I've just decided to go with a componenet set up front and rear fill for the sake of SPL.

I've been looking all over the web and found a few good options namely from MB Quart, but I can't well decide on what to get...

Wondering if anyone has any good experience, or can throw out some names they've heard of, with a set similar to the specifications I'm looking for...

Thanks to any responses!

90db sensitivity (overrated spec, not much usefulness to it for comparison purposes like this)

40w continuous power rating....but they can handle a lot more than that. 100-125w would be great for them.

Those are probably going to be the best option in your price range. Very good sounding speakers. Great low end extension when installed properly aswell. Snappy midbass. Overall just very good speakers.

Audiolife on here is running a pair in his truck.

That's great, thanks for the suggestion. I wonder if they'll be loud enough for my purposes at 90db sensitivity...

I ran the upright bass test off the Chesky Vol. 2 disc (last year's MECA judging CD) and was floored by how good they (the 6.5's) are down low. I have them crossed over @ 63Hz, 24/oct, and love them. Of course, a lot of that is install...but they sound great down low.

On the high end, they may need a little EQ'ing, depending. I have them mounted coaxially up high on my door panel, and the metal domes aren't too bad, but a half dB or so of cut on the upper end might help to take the harshness off of them. Certainly not as bad as some MBQ's or Infinity's, though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I was thoroughly impressed by the 5.25's low end in Dave's truck. He's got them crossed at something insane like 35hz @ 36db/oct (can't remember exact xover frequency....but it was in the mid 30's).

That's very impressive for a 5.25" comp set to run almost the complete range, 20hz-20khz. Heck, that's impressive for any component set.

Anyone know the mounting depth on those 5.25" Memphis Synchs or know of a place I could find out that information. I've been looking around a bit and I can't find anything on it. Thanks.
