Coal Dust

So I've been living in this apartment for about a year now. It sits over top a 3 bay garage, with a concrete deck extending off the side that houses a coal furnace underneath that you get to through the garage below. The furnace heats my apartment, as well as the landlords house about 30 yards below, and I hear them stirring the furnace about 4-5 times a day from the garage. The coal furnace heats water pipe registers that run along my baseboards. Anyway, I've started to notice an abundance of coal dust buildup lately in my apartment in the strangest of places. Underneath the sink for example, in a closed cabinet. Every day when I replace a white trash bag I find residue all over the outside. How the hell is that stuff getting inside a closed cabinet? I was horrified when I opened my computer case. Built it less than a year ago..now the inside is black with coal dust. I've started to cough allot more than I usually do being a smoker. Anyone have any experience with coal, cleaning tips, or any idea as to why I'm finding a fresh mist of coal dust daily covering the inside of my kitchen cabinets?

How does it get in there? I'm sure you don't have an airtight seal. The fine particulates are in all the air around there. If I were you, I would get several air purifiers. They sell them everywhere for people with allergies. Keep your windows closed etc.

I'm pretty sure it's bad for you to breath it in......Have you talked to them about it, let them know what's happening
it causes a condition called black lung,,coal miners like my grandfather got it.

Yeah, I realize this. I doubt i'll get it due to my low exposure time, but it can't be good. I'm more curious as to how a fine mist of it gets inside my cabinets on a daily basis.
