clipping

as many of you guy know.....using bass boost can increase the risk of clipping on an amplifier. I have a panasonic headunit (cq-c8401u) and there is a 7-band frequency adjustment. I was wondering..if I boost the lowest frequencies (~50 hz) all the way up...will this also cause my amp and/or headunit to clip? Thanks guys!

increaseing HEADUNIT bass boost inreases pre-out voltage so turn the headunit bass up and the gains on the amp down ^^^ yea pretty much just don't go over board I say allittle more then 3/4 to the top.

well on my headunit there are presets for: flat, jazz, pop, club, rock, and vocal.

I usually use the "rock" preset, which is boosted all the way up on the low frequencies. Is this a problem?

well i usually have the volume somewhere between 23-30/40 on the headunit...which is pretty high. Please dont confuse these eq settings with the "bass/treble" settings as those are both at 0.
