they could only ticket you for your seatbelt if they pulled you over for something else. they just passed it into law in florida where a cop can pull you over with no other reason and ticket you for not wearing one i believe these last few weeks/months.
when i got in my accident..the only thing saving my life was NOT wearing one. telephone pole literally halfway through the drivers SEAT right smack in the middle of the driver door, EXACTLY where my head would have been. seatbelt would have tightened, wouldnt have been able to move to the other side of the truck. head would be cracked into oblivion.

i saw a commerical that showed someone who wasn't buckled flying into other passengers and killing them in a car crash... now all my friends pull that one when i get into their cars...

i rarely wear my seat belt mostly because of how uncomfortable it is with my seat as far forward as it is.... i also noticed my seat belts lock up when the bass is on which is annoying since it tightens on you and makes it so you cant grab for your belt when you see a cop up ahead haha...

That is the exception rather than the rule. Seatbelts save lives, that is not a myth. But hey if you want to spread that myth around, that it is better to not wear seatbelts, be my guest - and have fun in hell. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
well the exception saved my life. and i believe the exception saves more lives than the law has/will.

If you think the law doesn't save lives... well, nothing I can say will make you grow up enough to believe otherwise.

I doubt you have ever seen a country or place that is lawless, or what it is like there.

It used to be a secondary violation in NY as well, but it has been a tickable offense for as long as I can remember. I kinda feel the same way, I mean Its my life, let me choose(i choose to wear it but would rather not get a ticket when i forget) Same goes for motorcycle helmets...

they claim they're trying to save lives. ask yourself this: why do 4 million children ride in a school bus twice per day with no seat belt? saving lives comes in second, once again, to revenue.
About 2 or 3 months ago there was a big wreck here in the city and a bus went off the bridge and stuff and this got brought up and they had a big reason for it.. I believe it came down to money and the kids would not use them anyways, and in all honesty, they wouldnt so why spend all of the money on there. One bus driver could not enforce 30-40 kids to wear there seatbelts.

And everyone knows back in the day when we were hardheaded kids that didnt know any better we couldnt either.

Its only 10 dollars, it will be ok.

in michigan you can get pulled over and ticketed for not wearing a belt. they don't need something else to pull you over for. been like this for a long time. i don't see what the big deal is so i just wear mine.

when did this turn into the travel channel?

and im not fighting the face that the law saves lives.

son, i work in automotive collision repair. you havent seen what ive seen.

vehicles comming in with interiors SOAKED with blood because passengers cant move around while accidents are taking place. exactly like in my situation. you would be surprised how much time you have, and how fast you will move, and how smart you will be while an accident is in progress, or about to be.

what about a manufacturers (i cant say who) little problem they had that they didnt leak to the public a few years back about malfunctioning seatbelts. occupants, under normal driving conditions stop when they get home and their seatbelts wont release. what if they got in an accident?

perfect example- teenager driving home one night loses control of his truck, sinks in a canal. seatbelt manfunctions, upon getting this truck out investigators see fingernail cuts from clawing at the seatbelt. kid couldnt get out. did the seatbelt not kill him?

faulty seatbelts. belting mechanisms actually have a charge the blows off in an accident tightening the belt around you. light hits this will go off. unknowingly, or by fault of the repair shop, this wont be replaced. upon another accident, wont work.

other times, people rib cages crushed and chests crushed by the seatbelts being too tight, or not worn correctly. causing the occupant to be in critical condition.

there are numerous cases i can tell you ive had see the aftermath of/repair within the last year alone, but im not going to waste the time.

im not fighting the fact that people should wear them, and they have been proven to save lives, but its not a perfect peice of equipment. that "exception to the rule" strikes back more than your little peebrain and comprehend. it should be whether you want to or not, not something goverment controlled. thats my point.

i would lmao if you got thrown through a windshield and i could watch it on youtube

Well .. if you think about it .. if wearing a seatbelt is a LAW .. why don't motorcycles have seat belts? I agree with most of the members here it should be a choice of the driver to wear one or not. Its kinda like a condom .. it's your own fault if u get a girl pregnant if you choose not to wear a condom ..

i get the concept of the law, it keeps you safer in your car than not wearing one. but what i dont like is someone telling me i HAVE to wear it when its something that will only effect me by not wearing it. dont protect me from myself. if that were the case i wouldnt be able to smoke, drink, eat fatty foods etc.
when i hear a story of someone flying out of their car and killing someone else, then i will wear it!!!!!
I have a story for you.

some dude flew out of his windshield in this accident... he wasn't wearing his seatbelt which caused his accident case the seatbelt was in his line of vision, but then he got clipped and stuff when he was turning and stuff.... went into oncoming traffic and he flew out of his windshield and into the other cars one and killed J-lo.....

it is a law to wear a helmet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

atleast in michigan it is

the windshield is a STRUCTURAL part of the vehicle. if only you understood how much of a ***** it is to get those things out. even shattered/spidercracked to pieces its still in tact and can hold a vehicle upside down from caving in crushing everyone inside.

and grow up man.

Son? Haven't seen what you've seen, huh. You work in Automotive Collision Repair? That is IMPRESSIVE, bro. Lol. You just have no idea.

Nothing cracks me up like someone who can't form complete sentences or use grammar/spell correctly, let alone form coherent arguments, calling me a peebrain. Don't hurt yourself, that was a complex sentence. It's not even worth arguing with you, kid. I'll go back to my other threads now. Have fun.
