clarion dxz855 not enuf power??

my speakers are distorting around setting 18 and my subs dont distort untill like 27 this is anoying, it says i should hook the HU directly to the battery? ive been to lazy to do this as of yet. would this help the distortion? also do i need a fuse by the battery? because it has a 15 amp fuse on the wire in the back of the HU

u need new speakers. that or put a real amp on your speakers instead of running them on deck power

Garbage in, garbage out. You are giving your sub enough power, but not your speakers. So you get more dynamic headroom from the sub than you do from the speakers.

so runnin 12 gauge to the battery instead of 22 from the wiring harness will help a bit right?? also do i need a small fuse at the battery as well as the stock 15 amp fuse on the HU power wire?

soo is it an ALT problem? do i need a cap? it seems to happen only when its a song with long bass notes like 3 6 mafia, the speakers dont cut out when its short quick kicks, also the car idles horibly when the lights are on and the system bangin, the guages dance around quite a bit, will this be solved with a cap?

No upgrading the power wire to the HU wont help. The built in amp in the HU isn't powerful enough to do what you're after. You need to power them w/a separate amp and not off of the HU.

There's nothing wrong w/the Clarion HUs, it's just that all HU amps can't compare to an outboard amp due to headroom and the amount of rms power.
