If you run your system actively or ever wanted to, this unit will allow you to. It features a 3-way active crossover with digital time alignment and parametric EQ. Its really a pretty substantial DSP for a modest price tag. It also features 24 bit D/A converters and the ability to bypass the internal amp for use with out-board amplifiers. It has 3 Sets of 6V RCA pre-outs. I have checked that the preouts put out just under 6 volts a little under max volume. The crossover allows support for traditional front/rear/sub setups but also the capability of full 3-way active (Front highs, Front lows, Sub-woofer). When in active mode you have full control over the filter frequencies and a choice of 6/12/18dB per octave filtering. Phase can also be switched on the fly. The parametric EQ, while only 3 bands, offers lots of adjustability. There are countless frequencies where you can set the bands to, and an adjustable Q and level for EACH SIDE. Essentially you have an individual 3-band EQ for the right and left sides. Another point of interest is the 728 variable coloring for the illumination of buttons/screen. With so much versatility you can easily match the color of your car's dash illumination or you can make it whatever you want or cycle through colors if you prefer something a little flashier. The USB implementation is done well on this, it allows a maximum of 256 songs per folder in 256 folders... Which equals a total of 65,536 songs it can access through USB. I was using a 320GB hard-drive hooked up through USB and it worked great.
