..........Clamped the XXV-Colossus....

Many people have asked if these amps were overrated, while other individuals have criticized it based on its price to power ratio. I recently clamped the Colossus on a 36hz tone and these were my results ......

102.4 ac volts

29.2 ac amps

102.4 X 29.2 = 2990.08 RMS (voltage dropped to 12.13)

102.4ac / 29.2 = 3.506 ohms

2990 @ 3.5ohms with only 12.13v (weak electrical)

I am pleased with these results and happy i chose this amp. Will be getting my hands on bxi2608 hopefully to test its ratings....

head unit was turned a tad under 3/4. Anything over 3 quarters, and the distortion became audible.

gain on the amplifier was set to 2v, which is roughly 3 quarters. Clipping indicator never came up throughout the test. bass boost off.

haven't checked DCR. nominal 2ohms wired to 1ohm each channel

Get the load down to 2-Ohms and you will se a pretty substantial power gain.

Drop that amp down to 1-1.4-Ohms for a burp and hold on to your socks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The amp is very efficient and will most certainly produce a lot more power then indicated in the manual.
