Checking for clipping--will this work?

oh so thats just to buy a program? Darn it...Im so....concerned about clipping. I cant tell when its a clip, i have no idea how //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif To me it just sounds louder and louder...

Came across this, seems much cheaper than any other oscilloscope and is portable:

I have NO IDEA how these things work or not, so im not even sure that this will work.........so im asking you guys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I thought the clipping was based on the signal from HU and amplifier. I dont think they are amplifier specific as far as WHERE on the gain it starts to clip, or else they wouldnt make gains in the first place. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
