sai wat
it is ported //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
EBP puts it squarely in the sealed only category. Any most all personal testimonials Ive seen agree. But what the hell, SQ is subjective, right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

well, if i had an SQ build i'd consider it. but i don't.

and i was only kidding with the "#2 best sub" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

and the bish is super nice ported. idc what everyone else thinks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif everyone else didn't buy my stuff. (wtf is EBP??)

Sorry, I thought you were more familiar with t/s parameters. EBP is Fs divided by Qts. 50 or less indicates sealed only sub. 50-90 indicates the driver is flexible to either type of enclosure. 90 or above indicates a ported only driver. This is not set in stone, but is a pretty solid indicator of the enclosure type the speaker will perform best in. A UL12 has an EBP of 38, indicating its close enough that it would work 'okay' in a ported enclosure, not falling completely on its face and making it obvious its the wrong enclosure type, but is below 50 enough that it definitely was designed to excel in sealed applications.
Cheers.

thanks for the info. i dont know shit about sub specs. now i know a little.

but my sub doesn't "fall on it's face". ask tez4life, the shit gets pretty loud and stays clean //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

You didn't read what I said close enough. Im sure it doesn't fall on its face, that was my point.

Have you run the sub sealed yet? You would likely notice an improvement. You should anyway, but hearing is subjective and what is perceived as 'better' the same is 99% opinion based. The specs indicate your sub will do okay ported. Not fall on its face, but not shine like the design was intended to do. You really do that sub injustice imo if you own a UL series and run it ported. But its your sub, your system, and your sound preference. Im just letting you know what enclosure type the specs indicate the sub prefers.

Glad to provide info. Hope you find it useful.
