Hi guys,
it was a stroke of luck that i came across this set.
the old school Alpine #F1!!!
the CDA 7990 + the H900 processor!
best was, it was in a 9/10 condition! the former owner was relocating. I had first dibs on it as the shop owner is one of my dealers!
this is going into my future system.. 4 way active front! yeah!!
But first, it'll be used in my friend's competition SQ car for the upcoming IASCA.
In his car, he had a W505 + H701 combo.
To screw ard, we installed the CDA7990 first and used the H701
In terms of sounding, the 7990 was amazing!
On the IASCA disc michael Ralph sound track, there was instant distinct layering that wasnt present in when using the W505.
The kick bass was more crisp and distinct, but best of all, the the tonal accuracy was out of this world.
The vocals were SOOO SMOOOTHHHHHH!!!
The processors going for servicing at Alpine ( just in case, the HU was serviced b4 the sale)
One thing i noticed, it has an " old school" analog kind of sound, unlike the new high end decks these days,
it has a " clean " but " not clean" feel, its like when u lsiten to CDs and Vinyls.
Compared to the present day #F1 HU, personally, the new #F1's tonal accuracy is better, but it lacks certain " character" that the old 7990 has, thus giving a very nice ambiance
Anyway, just to share with u guys!
Cheers
