cheapest head unit that has mp3 playback?

^^^ my friend has a JVC one he paid 150 for at best buy and HU i think gets either really hot or mp3s cds stop skipping after few hours of driving. is there anything to do about that, and what are the chepest hus that play mp3s and dont possibly have that problem, bought either online or in store with a warranty (would be needed if it starts screwin mp3 cd)

blaupunkt makes one called the Phoenix - it's all over ebay in the $100 range. I would prefer the older San Jose because I have personal experience with that line (the x-line), but I can't find any of those currently listed.

EUROSTAR , it plays MP3 well , n also it plays VCD , but it doeant sound as good as pioneer or alphine, (in the end its cheap)

get KENWOOD KDC-MP4026V it can play VCD,CD,MP3,WMA and LCD PREOUT....and one RCA preout .its only for $ 160 get it..
