Ive got a cheaper HU, its one of the lowew model JVC's, and i know its not great but for now its what i have to work with. Now, everything is great at lower volumes, but when i crank it up i get distortion. Now i know its because its a cheap HU, but im wondering if there is anything i can do to minimise it Right now im just running front stage off the HU. The volume is good till about 29/50, then up to 33 its only noticible in certain songs, then after that its pretty noticible all around. What im wondering is if i use an external amp for my front stage, which i am planning to do in the next month, would it reduce the clipping? Or is it all in my HU, and even the Pre outs will be just as distorted? I dont expect the distortion to go away, im just wondering if using the pre-outs will reduce it at all...
