CHEAP Accurate Volt Gauge?

Was looking on ebay and the stinger ones and digl display ones are like $30-40 after shipping to me up here.

Are there any cheaper version ovoltgages that anyone has had any luck with? Im hoping only to get a digitial display one.... Was thinking of buying a cheap cap and just using it for the voltage readout cause its actually cheaper lol

The cap adds resistance..horrible idea. I was gonna point you to the 40 dollar ones on ebay, cause thats pretty cheap for digital, lol...i kinda assumed you had only seen 100 dollar ones like at auto zone.

^^^agreed. Caps are very inaccurate as far as voltage readings. Your best bet is to just buy one of those stinger meters or I know Team H&K has some for sale as well. That would be the cheapest/most accurate routes

I'm using a walmart one, i check every now and then with someone in the car and me with a dmm directly on the batt and it generally reads a consistant ~.1 volts lower than the battery, more than accurate enough for me

Walmart digital readout one? I seen the one in th ebay link posted above, its $10 shipping to the USA, $30!!!!!!! for canada!!!!

I dont MIND spending $40 on one, but id prefer not if I dont have to. Id just like to see what kinda voltage drop Im getting, hell only have to do it once

If you only have to once take a dmm and measure your battery while your system is playin to tha max then youll be able to see what the lowest it drops to is

Wal-Mart has a digital one that plugs into your cigarette lighter...less than $15.00

lol l.e.d ones on ebay for 5 and 15 shipping they look better and simpler than any walmart ones

How accurate are those?

I said in an earlier post but generally mine reads a consistant .1-.15 below my actual battery reading, plenty accurate for me, especially cuz you can just figure your battery is realistically .1 higher than it all the time...

The problem with the cheap ones is that you dont know at what interval the value is being averaged at, nor is the response time very accurate.

I ended up buying one off of ebay that you could set the sample rate on. They offer similar ones on Digikey.
