Chances of a scholarship?

Well, I got back my ACT scores a week ago and I made a 31, which is great and all, but my GPA is only a 3.45 right now and I don't have any service hours and all that bullshit. Everyone keeps telling me I'll go to college for free and I could go anywhere I wanted and all that, but I just don't feel my other shit is good enough. I can get the GPA over 3.5, but I think not having the service hours will keep me from getting all the money I could get.

What do you guys think? I know most of you are in college or fresh out, so what's your view?

Maybe in Alabama you can go for free.

I think youll get some money, but I dont know about a full ride.

Your ACT scores is good, however I think most "good" colleges require somewhere in the 3.7+ for a full ride...

A 3.5 may help you get a partial scholly and then after your freshman year if you sustained a high enough GPA you can apply for college alum. funded schollies..

Then again I would claim to be half Native America on my mother's side and Black and English on my Dad's, just to seal the deal...

that is decent, but around here you have to be top 10% in your class to get a decent scholarship... and top %3 to get a full ride to a state school

Involved in any other activities? A small school here was going to pay my books and tuition just to play in their stupid pep band like 2 nights a week. Not bad pay if you think about it? But they are all right you should be able to get something for academics.

I don't think you will get a full ride, you will get alot of money but not a full ride.

i only gots a 27, but i have a 3.94 gpa, im going to take it again and see if the scores come up any, do colleges really look at top 10 in the class? i believe im one of them

I made a 30 on my ACT and had a 4.0GPA.. Fourth in my class out of 150.. I ended up getting $1250 a semester from Mississippi State University over 4 years...Also got $1500 a semester from the state of Mississippi over 4 years..Thats gonna be enough to pay for my tuition and most of my books for 4 years.. As far as housing and all that goes.. Coming out of my parents pocket!

Don't even worry about it there is so much free money floating around for college that its not even worth going if you have to pay. Just look around.

make sure you file your fafsa. http://www.fafsa.ed.gov i did mine, and got over $2650 for nothing. i was surprised too because my parents make "too" much money according to scholarship committees. around here, if your're white = no money whatsoever.
