CDT ES-620 with Sat480, crossover points?

I had these installed in my car for a while. Then went active with the ES-06 mids and DRT25 tweeters. Now I run the set up in my sig. However, I'm trying to sell the DRT25s and passive Xovers, but I don't know the crossover points. Does anyone know? I couldn't find it on Google or in the "manual" or on CDT's website. Obviously I could call them, but their customer service isn't that good, and I know there are CDT dealers on here. Anyone? Thanks...

Okay...what about the mids? Do passive crossovers bandpass them? What about the slopes? Basically just trying to find out the crossover points for the Sat 480s.

for most 2 way passives, you'll need to hp the mids w/ either your amp or your HU. the passives will just split the frequencies between the mid and tweet.

I heard their customer service skills is as good as their speaker designing skills. that's odd.

i dont like passive xovers.. ESP the cdts. i grabed a sundown 100.4 i have the FG6.5 with the tw25.

with the 450(bascially the same as 480) i had to attenuat the tweeter 6-7 db and cross the mid higher.. now i don't need an eq on good recordings.. also the tweeter protection *****.. i would highly recommend the sax 100.4d cadence IA4 or SS ref 4.640....

Okay. Thanks. The buyer might not be using the passives anyway. Thanks exige...
The 4.3kHz x/o point is WAY too high for those mids (ES-06) to go, if the buyer has active capabilities ~2.5kHz is a good starting point (or upgrade to the 550i passive x/o). If you're refering to the ES-600 mids (as the title suggests) then that x/over wouldn't be too bad, though I'd choose to cross a little lower if run active.

Actually I had the ES-6, sorry. But now I'm confused. I guess I will call CDT tomorrow. I don't think the buyers are actually going to use the passives anyway so it doesn't matter. I had them actively crossed @ 3200.

I know your a cdt dealer but I think you are mistaken. I called cdt and was told that a couple months ago because I had those for sale. 4.3khz is really high for a tweeter to be crossed.
not at all, but it is high for a 6.5" midrange. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The satnets are 4200 Hz @ a gentle (their words) 60 dB/oct. Apparently the CDT tweets are not capable of playing low.
I'm not sure why their sets gets praises with that type of xover points and slopes. You can have great sounding 6.5"s but if you cross them that high, you'd surely have beaming issues.

No bud I'm 100% positive that the crossover points on those are 4.3kHz. Laser is correct....it's not listed on the site. I'm not sure when it was removed. Just a few months ago it was listed in the crossover's description.

Yeah...uhhh...what Paul??

The couple times I have called CDT they seemed like they run their business out of someone's garage and they don't know much about their products, which is why I don't really want to call. It's not a big deal to me as the original buyer wanted to use the passives, but I'm selling them locally to someone who probably won't use them. Either way I'm not too familiar with how a passive crossover works, but if it just splits the frequencies, then 4300 seems really high for a mid to be crossed at; not at all high for a tweeter though. When I switched to active, I ran the DRTs crossed at 4000 with a 12db slope and the mids crossed at 3200, but had some cone break-up so then I settled on 3200 and 2500. Sounded decent. But all this is a moot point if the buyer of my stuff really wants to use the passives with other mids.

I emailed them a few years back, the guy absolutley insisted (in broken English) that I take the mids out of my kicks and put them in the doors. After I explained to him that this went against all logic as far as staging/imaging goes, he just simply was not capable of understanding. I learned years ago not to agrue with idiots, so I have never emailed him since.
