Not really... The 980 bt is almost as capable deck as the 880. In reguards to the 9887, it hasnt been out long enough to make justifiable comparisons. Spec wise both the 880, and 980 seem better, by a bit.. We will see though..I think a better comparison would be CDA-9887 vs. DEH-880PRS
I was in this dilemma and chose the 9887 just because of the fuse problem with the pioneers. I have experienced it first hand and HATE it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gifNot really... No. L/R eq is worth its weight in gold. The 880 wins hands down. Not really... The 980 bt is almost as capable deck as the 880. In reguards to the 9887, it hasnt been out long enough to make justifiable comparisons. Spec wise both the 880, and 980 seem better, by a bit.. We will see though..

Definately keep us informed of how that goes.I've owned the Premier P980BT (Pretty much the same deck as the 9800) and just sold my 880PRS on ebay, and am in the process or ordering the 9887! lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I will keep you posted on my findings. I was super happy with the 980BT, but not as much, surprisingly with the 880, even though it is supposed to have a bit more SQ functionality. The TA seemed to work better on the 980- maybe because it was in a different vehicle than my 880 but I could never seem to get the TA right with the 880. Both had pretty great SQ though overall. I had an Alpine 7998 and 9815 and was super happy with the SQ so I am going back to Alpine to check out the new deck.
